Through round one of the Royal Crown Race, it’s been the Kassie Mowry show. Clean off a highly successful July rodeo run that landed her comfortably toward the top of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association World standings, Kassie Mowry is back in her wheelhouse and cashing futurity checks on par with the rodeo windfall she earned in Calgary at the famed Stampede.

Mowry and KL Touch Of Heaven got off to a lucrative start in Rock Springs, Wyoming, at the Royal Crown 2D Breeders Futurity when they topped round one with a 15.278-second run. Round two of the futurity takes place Saturday, August 13 at 8 a.m.

The $1,087,500 added Royal Crown happens August 8-14 at Sweetwater Events Center and includes team roping, calf roping and breakaway roping in addition to the barrel racing. The event culminates with the Royal Crown Horse Sale on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
