The 2021 Women’s Rodeo World Championships Attract Top Talent

Semifinalists gear up to vie for rich rewards at South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.

The $750,000 Women’s Rodeo World Championships (WRWC), taking place Oct. 26-29, 2021, at the South Point Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., has treated rodeo fans to elite barrel racing action all week. Event champions in team roping, barrel racing and breakaway roping at the richest all-women’s rodeo in the world are all gunning for the champion’s check of $60,000 to be awarded in each discipline. Athletes qualify for the WRWC by earning points and leaderboard positions using the VRQ (Virtual Rodeo Qualifier).

Coming into the WRWC ranked No. 1 in the Open standings, professional trainer Hallie Hanssen of South Dakota is set to defend her 2020 WRWC title riding the 2012 mare Tres Movidas (Tres Seis x Sheza Blazin Move x Blazin JetOlena). Hanssen earned $79,680 through last year’s event.
