With one week left in the ProRodeo season, the drama is intensifying by the day. Keep up with results and unofficial world standings updates as we wait on the edge of our seats to see who will clinch their National Finals Rodeo qualification.
The barrel racing has kept fans on the edge of their seats all weekend long to see who may lock down their NFR qualification position. As it stands currently, Lisa Lockhart has secured her 16th NFR qualification after a third-place finish in Stephenville, Texas during an exciting performance on Sunday, September 25.
The drama in Stephenville did not disappoint. Paige Jones, Lisa Lockhart and Cheyenne Wimberley were within hundredths of one another, illustrating just how competitive this particular group of bubble cowgirls are. At the end of the day, Lockhart’s incredible weekend —where she secured checks at five rodeos—may have just locked in her NFR qualification. Unofficially, Lockhart not only surpassed Michelle Darling in the No. 15 spot, but also jumped past Leslie Smalygo to add an extra safety blanket at No. 14.
All eyes will be on the WPRA standings on Monday, and then to the small rodeos in Cumberland, Maine, and Fort Worth, Texas, to see which cowgirls will pull their trailers in the driveway and take a final stab at the bubble position. Stay tuned as BRM follows the race to the wire.
